I hate to bitch about having an abundance of good games to choose from, but I really think developers screw themselves by bunching all their premier title releases up towards the end of the year. What winds up happening is that some quality games just get back burnered, and by the time I get around to finishing some of the more highly desired games, those games that didn't make the original cut are in the remainder bin.
I have only a limited amount of time to play games. There are easily 8 to 10 games I want to play coming out in the next three months. I have time to play around 1 new game a month. That's probably on the slow side, but I suspect many gamers with families are in similar situations. This means that I will probably play around 4 or 5 of those game before the rest are either being discounted or I've lost interest in playing them. This a loss for the developer.
It seems the mad rush for the holiday season is really counter productive.

I'm replaying Deus Ex for the first time since originally played it in '99 or so.
Everything is great about the game except the combat, which is fine because that's not why we love the game.
But seriously omg the combat and weapons are terrible.

However, I just stumbled on this site on kanji that says in Japanese, karen "describes a pretty aspect, for instance describe pretty flower." http://you-sho.com/items/detail/15.html
So now I'm confused. I'm not surprised that the characters have similar-but-vastly-different meanings in Chinese and Japanese (that is to be expected.) But did My Documents purposefully choose the words karen and sympathy knowing the Chinese meaning of the word karen, or did she simply want to express "cute, pretty sympathy"? Or is the site referenced only half-right, and the kanji "karen" also has connotations of pity?

Wow, that is truly gaming art. I loved every puzzle, every art asset and every mystery it brought up.
I haven't enjoyed any other 360 game as much as this. I can't recall having this much fun with ANY game in a very, very, very long time.
PS - the ending blew my fucking mind.
