With the Leipzig Games Convention now underway, developer Bethesda has hopped on the media bandwagon and provided new screenshots of its post-apocalyptic RPG.

Fallout 3 is due out on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this fall.

Please, please Bethesda, don't let this game suck as much as Oblivion did. I beg you. I hear rumors that the world in Fallout 3 is only 1/4 the size of TES:IV. Yikes... :(

Why are there no shadows? That just seems plain stupid. I can't believe that this is something that could be considered unnecessary.

ya know...these shots all look very, very desolate. but Fallout's towns were actually full of people. sure, outside the towns things were very desolate...but aside from the Vault shots, most of these shots don't show any friendlies outside! wtf yo?

Is this the game where u can actually take drugs and be like a real life drug addict!! That is great, i can't wait to be on drugs in a game.This is what i've been waiting for in a post-apocalyptico almost real life video game in one unit on a high tech DVD.

Such an ugly engine, with its low res textures, plastic normal maps, excessive bloom and complete lack of shadows. Post-apocalyptic future is a terrific setting for an RPG and it deserves better.

Looking great, the only thing that's making me skeptic is how combat works. I have no problem with pausing or even turn-based stuff, but the whole dramatic camera and target selection can get old fast. Judging from the gameplay videos, if I had to do that all for all enemies I've encountered in Oblivion, I'd become frustrated with the game pretty fast.
