My original post was gonna say 'Is this the patch that adds the fun?', but since I hadn't played it, I figured that'd be an ignorant comment to say.

A hardcore 1st person fan that isn't swayed by eye-candy would say "Why should I bother with an updated engine of a game when the previous version has around 5 or 6 huge map packs, a fantastic selection of mods like Killing Floor and Ballistic Weapons, solid gameplay, user-friendly interface, better customization and hosting support."
They really needed to push things forward, but they decided to take the console route and ignore some of the most fundamentally expected features for PC release. Bad move.
In saying that, I still have love for UT3, just that I find myself going back to UT2004, and that shouldn't really be happening. "No, no, UT3 is the next step, a new era."
Maybe it can be saved. Nvidia's recent PowerPack forceware release made for some good UT3 publicity.
It's one of those times when you can only wish that a game was more popular, because the potential is clear.
