So after 11 months of doing other shit (eve, conan, warlock) i'm back on my warrior. He's in pretty bad shape PVP (and PVE) wise:
- S2 gear
- Bloodmoon turned into noobmoon since everybody is high ress and everbody can get it since the stupid BOE vortex patch :(

Spend some banked points to fix a few slots but still... crap.
So i decided to dedicate my time to gearing up friends and their alts. Resulting in annoyingly low ratings. This ofc also has to do with me getting used to changes (FUCKING DISARM) and not being the flavor of the month this season (lol rogue/mage).
To fix things i could spend a lot of honor- and arenapoints (S2 mace - ratings up - S3 mace - more S4 gear - done) and aim for higher ratings. The alternative is to chill out and bank points for level 80. The latter seems to be best since there's no way i'll catch up 2 seasons fast (both teammates and gear) and at 80 we all start over. But still.... i has an itch to spend spend SPEND!
So Shackvets, what would you do? Save up or gear up?

wow, the US women held Mali to 5 points in the 3rd quarter and 8 in the 4th. I hope the men can dominate like that against Greece

"Welcome back to the playground of your youth"
This game is awesome. It's got a challenging single player campaign and really cool multi-player. The art and sound are a lot of fun and it's full of all sorts of references that are actually funny and make sense. Apparently you can play it on your phone too (including online) if you have a Nokia, I think.
Anyway, check it out. Super fun.

So what brand(s) are good? Which should I avoid?
It doesn't have to be anything fancy, since I will only be using it for note taking and accessing the library network.
Is there any hope I could get ahold of a new one that doesn't have Vista installed? I don't even want to go near that OS.
halp!

TIMESHIFT. When the game came out I read the reviews (averaging around 70 points) and figured it would be a waste of the eurobuck. A few weeks back I was shopping for something else and the game hit my eye on the shelves (PC version) for a decent price of 15 euro. I was out of good games so I figured why not.
The game is awesome. It's not original, and it's not "one of the best games I've played", but I haven't had this much fun with a FPS since HL2 and maybe Crysis (which I also think is unfairly judged as a graphics benchmark when the game itself was actually fun).
Question is, am I alone with this? Anyone else think Timeshift is, if not a 90 point game, very close to one? There's nothing new in slowing down or stopping time, but it's well done, it's fun as hell and the level design isn't too bad either. Why is it a 70 point game?

To make things a little bit more complicated the work is for my Sister's boyfriend. He's a property developer that works in spain, really nice guy, we get on really well. He wants some basic websites that he can rely on to work, and look nice and be easy to update and expand in the future. Really simple stuff, but he was taken by my graphic design etc and thought that would be the look he wanted to present.
SO web guru menz. How much would you charge as a flat fee for a small webdesign, consisting of 4-5 pages. Elegant and clean design (not too graphic heavy) containg nothing more complicated than "about us" , "products" or 'contact us' pages...
Keep in mind if he's happy with this it will lead to a lot more work in a similar vein. Which is where the problem lies, he's family, so i feel bad charging him a lot. But at the same time if he likes it, and the lower than usual price, and has lots more work, i dont wanna be stuck doing loads of work for cheap. Plus i'm no millionaire myself so i need the money.
I know the details are sketchy but have you got any suggestions? This cost is to include hosting for a year and the domain reigistration costs too.

We've got a little Wednesday treat for our fellow shackers--us! :P
In the latest episode of Played, we kick off with discussion of Nintendo’s ban on designer Shigeru Miyamoto discussing his personal hobbies, then launch straight into what we’re playing.
Xbox Live Arcade is a big theme, with Chris and Mark playing Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (and making unsolicited comparisons to Everyday Shooter) and Chris taking on Braid. Liz has been into Soul Calibur IV, but less into its absurd achievements.
Finally, Mark has returned to Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune again, and he finally finished The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess almost two years after its release.
