BioWare 'Looking at' More Mass Effect DLC; Considering DS Versions of Mass Effect, Other Series

Mass Effect (PC, 360) developer BioWare is examining the possibility of further updates to its space-age RPG following the release of the first downloadable content pack earlier this year, studio president Greg Zeschuk revealed.

"We said it was a trilogy so there's some stuff happening," Zeschuk told MTV Multiplayer. "We're also looking at some other post-release content... You know how we are. We're always very circumspect until we can go 'Aha! There it is!'"

The executive added, "With everything we build now, we want to have this long-term relationship with the customer and always have something for them to try. So we're definitely looking at that for Mass Effect."

The company is currently at work on Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood (NDS) in collaboration with Sega, but BioWare's Nintendo DS development may not end there. Sonic Chronicles lead designer Miles Holmes stated that the studio is exploring "basically anything that reinforces" BioWare's existing franchises.

"I tell you which one I would want. I want the Mass Effect one," Holmes told Eurogamer. "We have a lot of big plans for Mass Effect. Having a DS version would be an awesome way to keep interest alive and keep it going in addition to [Mass Effect 2]."

The developer added that BioWare's handheld team aims to reinforce major title releases such as the company's upcoming fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Origins, and will build up to three projects at once at full capacity.

Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood is slated to hit retailers this coming fall.

I'd love to see a good DS RPG that isn't a Final Fantasy port or JRPG period.

If they can keep the aesthetics of Mass Effect in small 2D form, bring it on.

If they make driving the Mako like a top down tank shooter that'd be awesome!
