EA's CEO John Riccitiello talked about how licensed games, and specifically the bad ones, hurt the industry. THQ CEO Brian Ferrell says that "hardware cycles" as we knew them are gone, mostly. And coming straight from the Shack itself, Nick has a piece on id Software president John Carmack regarding both where they are and where they're going. Oh and hey bikini clad zombie killers!
The Premiership is about to start in 12 days time. I know a few of you guys are interested in watching the sport, and some even play games! Just wondering if I could spark up a little more interest in things with some online games.
I've got two in mind, one is Xpert 11, which is a game where everyone gets a generated team of players and plays 2 matches a week, managing them, tactics, transfers, etc. Pretty simple game, but fun. The other is Fantasy Premier League, which is where you just pick players from the Premiership and based on their performance every gameweek, you get certain points (like 4 for a player scoring).
Gauging your reaction, cuz I don't wanna waste my time :(

What's a good website (or, preferably, RSS feed) that I can use to keep track of bands that are playing gigs near me? I'm in Chicago, IL. I have a bad habit of finding out that a band is touring... just after they leave my state.

It's also the greatest amalgamation of visual eye-candy ever, all backed by a Philip Glass score. You should totally watch it. How come when I go to Image > Adjustments > Replace Color..., the only options I have are for Hue, Saturation, and Lightness?
I want to change something black into a darker shade of brown, and no matter how I change the hue and saturation and lightness, the black always stays black, gray, or white.
Is there another way to do this?

Game two of the season is today. If you're going to boost this year, now is the time to do it (Lampshades players). Also check the team forum for suggestions on what player tactics to use, since there are some new ones.
Also, if you need a bonus to get level 16 equipment let us know how much. I think we missed a couple people. We can afford to finish out the level 16 gear now. Level 24 bonuses will only be going to key players though, since it's $50,000 for each piece.
