Shack PSA: BioShock $15 on Steam this Weekend
by Aaron Linde, Jul 25, 2008 5:15pm PDTThe PC edition of 2K Boston and 2K Australia's deep sea shooter BioShock (PC, PS3, 360) is now on sale at Valve's digital distribution platform Steam for $14.99.
The sale lasts through Sunday, July 27. The $15 sale price for the critically acclaimed Shacknews 2007 game of the year nominee represents a 50% cut from its current retail price point of $29.99.
The 50% price cut is also enacted for Steam customers in other territories. UK and Australia-based users have reported the game as currently for half off its respective regional price points.

I'd imagine what with all the piracy going on here in Europe, Valve wouldn't want to miss the chance to attract broader audiences to Steam with such a low price on a quality title such as this. Hell, I was considering buying it just to have it in my Steam library even though I already have it on DVD. Bottom line is, I'm fairly sure this offer would yield better results on this side of the pond. I reckon the game's a little less popular here than it is stateside, as well.

Which shows that not only was the US price already $20 less to start with, but it's still $15 less even now!
I'm sick and tired of publishers who can't get it through their thick sculls that an internet distribution system is global!
We still have Ubisoft and others who are not only pricing their games differently (even though, as an example, the AU dollar is currently almost exactly the same as the US dollar) but even lock their games to only one part of the world!
Then these same retards turn around and claim that piracy is running rampant!
