What I want to know is if the enemies are going to have any feedback animations when I shoot them. That's the main thing that always bugged me about HL2. That fact that you had this advanced engine, but you got no feedback from shooting your enemies. They just kept doing whatever they do while you blaze away at them. This is going to be especially noticeable in a zombie game, where I expect my zombies to react based on where I shoot them.

the source engine is looking old these days. it still looks good, it just doesn't have that 'wow' factor anymore. I hope after l4d and ep3 they come out with a new engine.

The new models look good, but I can't help thinking they don't look quite as detailed. I know they're supposed to look cleaner, but I think they look a bit more bland as a result of their new design. Compare these two galleries to see what I mean:

I like these new models, they look much better than what the concept art let us imagine. I guess they're going for the CS:Source clean realistic look. Which isn't a bad idea considering they want broad appeal for the game.
