Sonic Goes Medieval, Gets a Sword in Latest Effort
by Chris Faylor, Jul 21, 2008 9:00am PDTSega today announced Sonic and the Black Knight, a Wii-exclusive action title that throws the iconic blue speedster into medieval times and arms him with a sword.
Slated to arrive in spring 2009, the Sonic Team-developed effort is said to mark the second release in the Sonic Storybook Series, which began with the Wii-exclusive Sonic and the Secret Rings.
Whereas Sonic and the Secret Rings was based off the tales of Arabian Nights, the Black Knight is inspired by the fabled adventures of King Arthur. A Sonic game due out this fall, Sonic Unleashed, turns the mascot into a stretchy grey werewolf at points.
"Following Sonic on his way to knighthood will excite players of all ages," claimed Sega Europe marketing director Gary Knight.

How about actually playing these games instead of judging them on press releases and magazine scans?

Was there any good Sonic game past Sonic 1/2 on the Genesis 15 years ago? Because all the comments I read seem to point to 'no'.

Seriously, do they pay you in cocaine? Is that why you won't give up the hedgehog? You can't make a fun game, you haven't in half a dozen years. It's time to give it up.
Shit you even had a sure thing with Nights, but you went and fucked that up too.

Today Sega has announced Sonic: Blood on the Sand, a brand new title in the Sonic series. In this new installment, not only has Sonic gone into the middle east, but also has gotten some guns and a new like for rap.
With a third-person view, Sonic will lay down the "motherfuckin' law" onto terrorists. "I think you are going to be surprised at much we're going to dissapoint you," says Gary Knight, Sega Europe's marketing director, "it's gonna be like 'awesome I just did something in a cutscene I will never be able to do in game' and 'damn that's some sweet-ass sand textures.'"
