Hey Volition, Lucas Arst just called; they want their Fracture engine back...

Needless to say, Volition will always have a special place in my heart because of FreeSpace 2. Also the first Red Faction, despite almost falling into a "cookie cutter fps" category after all the hype, left me wanting more... which the sequel simply didn't deliver. There was just something in the atmosphere of the first game...

If my memory serves me correct weren't the first two in first person view? I don't remember much from two but I don't even recognize the game in comparison to the first.

From a "construction" background, this has me absolutely giddy. When they talked about the buildings exterior being made of glass walls, with more robust structures on top - my instant thought was "where is the internal structure, if this game accounts for everything" - well, they then tell us that they have to build it like a real building. Awesome.

I'd certainly like to give this a shot. And it certainly would be a game I'd LOVE to have access to the construction-set and build some of my own buildings. ie. Imaging building/creating your whole workplace and then running through it smashing all the exterior and interior supports to bits.... Could be very gratifying. :)
