Fake TF2 Spy Image Fools Valve
by Nick Breckon, Jul 16, 2008 10:12pm PDTTeam Fortress 2 followers may remember a "leaked" image (left) that recently convinced many fans that the Spy update was on its way from developer Valve. The screen was soon revealed to be a fake, the words "Hoax by Kaanin" found in small print at the bottom.
Now a new post on the official TF2 blog reveals that even some Valve employees were deceived by the image.

"In addition to the three unlockable Spy weapons, we've made some changes to the base Spy class. The spawn health cabinets now completely refill the Spies cloak meter, and team dispensers refill the Spies cloak. The Spies running speed has been increased to match the medics, this way the Spy doesn't spend all his time chasing targets across the entire map for a single stab. Lastly the backstab mechanic has been slightly changed. Players can now hold their mouse button down to 'prime' their stab, then release the mouse to unleash it instantly. This significantly helps out with missing stabs, while not increasing the rate at which the spy can stab."
