Geometry Wars 2 Coming August 6, to Feature 4P Co-op and Versus Game Modes
by Aaron Linde, Jul 14, 2008 6:07pm PDTFollowing the unveiling of Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 (360) at Microsoft's E3 2008 press conference today, developer Bizarre Creations has revealed more details concerning the upcoming shooter.
In addition to a remixed version of the original game, Geometry Wars 2 also features five additional game modes each oriented towards a particular challenge. All of the modes can be played solo, or with up to four players on a single Xbox 360 console in cooperative or competitive play. No mention of multiplayer over Xbox Live was made.
The Pacifism achievement—which required players to survive for a set period of time without firing a shot—has been expanded into one of the title's new game modes.
Also mentioned were King, Deadline, and Sequence, though the company did not offer any further details on those modes.
Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 2 is slated for release on the Xbox Live Marketplace on August 6.
