Capcom has announced that Backbone's downloadable revival of the classic top-down shooting series 194X will hit Xbox 360 on Wednesday, July 23, followed by a PlayStation 3 release on Thursday.

Said to take cues from the original 194X games but "stand out as its own unique entry," 1942: Joint Strike is priced at $9.99, or 800 Microsoft Points, and will be downloadable through the Xbox 360's online Xbox Live Marketplace and the PS3's PlayStation Store.

I'd buy this in a heartbeat...except I'm saving the money to have the DVD drive in my 360 replaced first.

      Yes, nice.

Agree, I will buy it for sure.

Just wish it had I bit of a more colorful pallet like the arcade (geez I sound like the Diablo petition :( )
