New 1942 Hits Xbox 360, PS3 in Two Weeks
by Chris Faylor, Jul 09, 2008 7:38am PDTCapcom has announced that Backbone's downloadable revival of the classic top-down shooting series 194X will hit Xbox 360 on Wednesday, July 23, followed by a PlayStation 3 release on Thursday.
Said to take cues from the original 194X games but "stand out as its own unique entry," 1942: Joint Strike is priced at $9.99, or 800 Microsoft Points, and will be downloadable through the Xbox 360's online Xbox Live Marketplace and the PS3's PlayStation Store.

Totally bought so long as it doesn't suck.
If any journalist is out there, maybe you could get them to explain "why?" also. And please don't accept "i18n", cause that's bullshit.

Still, it's good to see some new shooters, even if little effort appears to have been expended on the graphics :( Well, I guess I'm being a bit harsh - it looks ok. Maybe it looks cool in motion.
I'd love to work on a retail scrolling shooter though. Man, that would be awesome.
