New Team Fortress 2 Patch Arrives
by Aaron Linde, Jul 01, 2008 2:40pm PDTA new patch for the PC version of Valve's Team Fortress 2 has been released, addressing issues arising out of the recent Pyro Update and numerous other woes.
The patch will be downloaded and automatically installed upon restarting the Steam client. Changes include:
- Fixed backburner's flame critical hits not being recalculated after collision. This meant that it would check if the target was looking away once and after that the flame could score a critical hit again even if the orientation changed
- Added back some damage falloff to the Pyro's flamethrower. Not nearly as extreme as it was before the Pyro class pack
- Fixed bug that caused Demomen to take a small amount of extra damage from their own grenades and fly farther using them
- Fixed spy getting stuck in players after removing his disguise
- Fixed spy stabbing and being able to go invisible instantly
- Fixed spy disguised as enemy medic being able to spam voice commands
- Fixed buffed health not decaying properly after being healed by a dispenser
- Selectable menus can now be operated with number keys even if they are not bound to slot1, slot2, etc.
- Removed the remaining speed adjustments for carrying intelligence (a couple of game modes still reduced your maxspeed)
- Fixed a buildable item placement bug where the object would not rotate after the user tried to place in an invalid location

Now all we need is the removal of the 50 health bonus from the Backburner, a slightly speed nerf to the Ubersaw and possibly some tweaking to the Blutsauger so it is less effective in combat and I'll be happy.

There is a hugeass thread in your forums you assholes, with people crying and whining not unlike my bitter self here.
Its the same shit with the stuttering issue that the never really fixed back then. I love your commitment to upgrades and tweaks for your games Valve. I'm not mad that you break things in the process but having this issues since NOVEMBER of last year after you had fixed that before makes me an angry shacker.

Case in point: I have a 2MB DSL. Which should I pick on the connection speed question they ask? Apparently, these fit my choice better:
* DSL > 768kb
* T1 > 1MB
* DSL > 2MB
But still. I picked "DSL > 768kb", since it's a DSL that's higher than 768kb. It's not a T1 though, so I didn't pick T1 even if the speed is closer. Or is it just an example? Or should I have picked "DSL > 2MB" if they meant to say "2mb or higher"?
In the end, it didn't measure my speed, but just the fact that I have a DSL that's higher than nearly one third of what it actually is.
