StarCraft 2 Not Arriving in 2008?
by Chris Faylor, Jun 30, 2008 7:50am PDTBlizzard's anticipated sci-fi PC RTS sequel StarCraft 2 will not hit this year, according to an extremely sparse report from Internode Games Network.
The studio is only "about a third of the way" done with the game's campaign mode and is currently focusing on story and cinematics, executive VP Rob Pardo revealed during a talk at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational.
Pardo further noted that the company hopes to have something impressive to show by the year's end, causing the site to conclude that the title will not hit stores in 2008.
Blizzard has yet to make any official statement regarding the release of StarCraft 2. Prior to the Worldwide Invitational, several retailers began listing an unconfirmed December 3rd release, fueling speculation that a date would be announced at the event.

It's not like I don't have other things to do before StarCraft 2 come sout. Take your time, Blizzard: your gold quality stamp is something I've always trusted, so when you say it's ready, it's ready.

Damn the game looks good. The colors look fucking dazzling.
As far as I'm concerned, they can take awhile to come out with the game and make sure it is great...and it sure will be, Blizzard always delivers.

You can't have it both ways people. Appeasement now and then an agonizing wait or live in the shadows not know if D3 exists and then a near to release surprise.

Releases go by Yearly Quarters (which is blocks of 3 months for anyone that doesn't know), and they will Generally have a release date ready the Quarter before it's Actual release.
For Example: If you haven't heard about the release date BY September (The End of the Third Quarter) there's a solid chance it wont be till AT LEAST the First Quarter Next Year.
Now this isn't a set rule / science - but it's VERY common.
Games come out 'when they're done' - it's been this way for a while don't expect it to change ANYTIME soon.
