Metal Slug 7 Coming to North America This Fall

Publisher Ignition Entertainment today announced its intentions to localize SNK Playmore's run-and-gun shooter Metal Slug 7 (NDS) in North America this fall.

Marking the first non-arcade debut of a Metal Slug title since the series' 1996 debut, Metal Slug 7 is exclusively developed for the Nintendo DS and features six playable characters in a total of seven levels.

The game expands on the classic 2D action shooting gameplay with several new weapons and vehicles, as well as new gameplay modes to enhance replay value.

First non-arcade MS game is incorrect. There was one on the gameboy advance. Or was that a port and not an original MS game?

DS and nothing more? I had certainly hoped an appearance on the Wii in some form. Perhaps eventually.

I wish this was on PSN or at least XBLA. Even a regular arcade version, damnit.

Ah well, I guess I should see how good it is first before having another "I don't own a DS and never will" hissy fit.
