Age of Conan Director Talks Upcoming Content, Says Some Zones Held Back to 'Play It Safe'

The interview is full of half-truths. I don't know how he could say the Necromancer changes were well received! The guy either lives in a bubble or is the AOC equivalent of Brad McQuaid.

I like the game and am willing to stick it out, but that's more to do with the people I play with rather than the game itself.

"What we chose to do at launch was to play it safe--to pick areas and zones and regions and hold them back, then finish them post-launch," explained Godager

"That was to be able to polish the areas that we did for launch to a higher degree. So on the content side, the big zones that we're giving out this Autumn like Ymir's Pass and others--those are definitely pre-launch stuff that was cut or put on hold."

^^ yeah right!. lol, the game launched still in beta cuz funcom was scared of WotLK & Warhammer Online. if AoC was launched any later ppl would had overlooked the game. i've already canceled my account. paid beta is all that crap was. too bad.

missing middle to end content, unbalanced PvP, SHIT gear!, and god... the loading was horrid. nice try. ppl are dropping out the game like flys and soon all funcom will have to hope for is that their shit game lasts long enough thru the xbox 360. good luck.

They should focus on fixing on the areas which are in the game now, instead of trying to create new content.

Also people in charge of classbalancing? Do they have any, or is balancing done by committee made of half-drunks monkeys.

and then Diablo 3 got announced and Age of Conan became the Star Wars Galaxies of MMOs, and started showing infomercials on late night tv to get subscribers

I'm still enjoying the game, but I also am only to level 50ish. Don't have time to level to 80 in two days, and I don't think most people do. For those that race through and then want to know where levels 80-160 are, I guess you'll have to wait.

Looks great, but really, the most boring "mmo" I've ever tried, and I've tried more than a few.
