As for the the videogame news around these parts for today:

Lastly, I need to play more GRID.

  • Formula 1 - the upcoming game.

I've just been browsing the Codemasters F1 forums.
    http://community.codemasters.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1011

The comments there aren't exactly of the all positive and high-hopes kind... - and I would be lying if I said I wasn't worried too. This is even considering... that there has been desperate need for a new good F1 game for a bit. Sony has been sitting on the license for a while, and now something will finally happen on a multiple platform level. I really do hope Codemasters can pull it off.

I think Dirt and GRID are both great games. But... this is Formula 1 baby. And because of that, simulation needs to be the skeleton here. Having said that, there should obviously be assists - to make it more fun for the average player, but it needs to be done from a simulation --> slightly less simulation perspective - the way I see it. Starting out developing an arcade styled game, then adding simulation touches won't work.

What are your take on this? Looking forward to the game? Worried? Couldn't care less?
