Guitar Hero 3 Gets Coldplay DLC June 19

A pack of three tracks from piano-rock group Coldplay will be available for PS3 and 360 Guitar Hero 3 owners to download on June 19, publisher Activision revealed today.

Meant to promote the new Coldplay album that arrives June 17, the pack will contain:

Violet Hill
Yellow
God Put a Smile Upon Your Face

The pack marks the third of the five GH3 track packs Activision vowed would arrive in June. No price point or any indication of a cost was provided, suggesting the trio could be a free download from the online PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace.

They keep on releasing nice tunes as DLC for GH3, but I still haven't downloaded anything with the exception of the free tracks. To me the DLC stuff doesn't integrate well with the rest of the game. They can be played in career mode, but they aren't part of the storyline progression. Hopefully this is something that Neversoft will address with GH World Tour.

GH3 and Coldplay don't seem like they would go well together... Maybe Rockband. It doesn't seem like the guitar is ever the focus in their music.

Looks like I might actually buy a GH3 track pack... If only for God Put a Smile Upon Your Face, which is a ridiculously good song. Too bad we can't suffer through vocals with it on Rock Band, though. :(

Really? GH3 DLC sucks. I really wish they had some decent content but its a horrible selection. I should buy a copy of RB just to play the guitar parts.
