Penny Arcade Adventures Comes to Steam

Valve announced today that Hothead Games' downloadable RPG Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode One (PC, 360) is now available on its digital distribution platform Steam.

The developer also noted that the title's Steam release is enhanced with achievements by Valve's Steamworks development tool suite.

"Many at Valve are huge fans of Penny Arcade—the comics, the site and now the game," said Valve business director Jason Holtman. "As such, we're delighted Hothead Games chose to use the Steamworks system of achievements and create a special PC version of On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness for the millions of gamers on Steam."

The game was released last month on the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live Arcade, and PCs through the Penny Arcade-curated PC, Mac, and Linux digital distributor Greenhouse. Precipice of Darkness carries a $19.99 price on all platforms.

Drats! Already purchased via Greenhouse for the PC. I would have much rather obtained it via steam for simple consolidation reasons (Keeping track of Digital Distro logins is a pain).

Same here. I suppose I might buy it again when the second one comes out and give the one I have to a friend who uses Linux.

Maybe they could offer some sort of "upgrade" fee? $4.99 and you can upgrade to the Steam version
