Good morning ladies and gentlemen, let's get this going. The weekend was pretty quiet, so why don't we take a look at what's been happening around the Shacknews community?

Shacker RomSteady visited A-Kon this weekend and found a wealth of enthusiastic Valve fans. Staffer Chris Faylor's brother exhibited his comedic abilities, and we now know who to blame for hoarding those genes. Then we bring you a hard hitting tell-all confession of a World of Warcraft loot junkie. Plus last night marked the start of the latest Shacknews Team Fortress 2 Tournament, good game to all involved. Oh yeah, and I posted some contest results .

Buying Rockband on the way home.

So. Fucking. Excited.

Whats the best DLC to get? The main one I want is NIN - Perfect Drug, what are other good drum type ones to get?

  The Boston pack is my favorite so far. I haven't gotten around to getting The Cars yet, but when I get the points, I will.

    The Cars pack would have been better had it come out for keyboard hero. That being said:
    
    The cars pack in a nutshell; drums = fun (one challenging song); guitar = fun (2 challenging songs)
    
    Get the Metallica pack - I can beat and justice for all and ride the lightning on hard - both are so much fun to play.

      yes, and adding in More Than a Feeling, which was my favorite song in GH1 is so damn great. Plus the other 5 Boston songs in the pack are very good.

    Yeah, this hits the cars album pretty much on the head. I'm a little bothered by the fact that Moving in Stereo is so easy on guitar. That's my favorite song, and on expert I 99% it the first time I played it.

      Only Interstate Love Song and Sex Type Thing to go along with Vasoline that's already in the game. I'm hoping for some more STP DLC at some point (PLUSH). They have really fun to play drum parts, too.

        There hasn't been any Velvet Revolver in Rock Band yet. You must be thinking of Guitar Hero 3.

  Oh fuck Doolittle is coming out next month? I may actually have to finally buy this for 360, I've always played on friend's systems in the past but I have a 360 now and I don't know any of them that are keeping up with the DLC and/or know The Pixies very well.

  In addition to a lot of the stuff already mentioned, (NIN, STP, Boston) some songs that I really enjoy playing on drums are:
  
  Train In Vain by The Clash (easy, but lots of fun triplets in Hard & Expert mode)
  Call Me by Blondie (the fills are nice)
  Why Do You Love Me by Garbage (just fun all the way through, with lots of variety in patterns)

    I'm loving it - my gf tried the drums and hates them, which is awesome. So she is using the guitar at the moment and I'm on drums :)
