SimCity Creator Details Unveiled by Electronic Arts; We Build This City on Wii, DS
by Nick Breckon, May 29, 2008 7:41am PDTAnnounced earlier this year, Electronic Arts today released new details of SimCity Creator, an "accessible and light-hearted" urban simulation for the Nintendo DS and Wii.
The Wii version of SimCity Creator will see players zoning and building up cities as in past SimCity titles, with 13 different city styles to choose from. Mayors will be able to jump in a helicopter, jet or propeller plane to get a view of their creations.
Disasters are back, with players using the Wii remote to "create earthquakes, tornados, call in destructive robots and monsters, create fires and discover many more ways to cause havoc." The remote will also allow for the building of curved roads and transport, a first for the series.
The Nintendo DS flavor will focus on city building through the ages, with players progressing from ancient times to the future. This version is set to include Challenge, Free Play, Chance Encounter and Gallery modes.
Both the Wii and Nintendo DS version will ship on September 22.

I still remember creating garbage city...hook that place up next door to a city, then send all your trash there, and never go back to it because it will never get out of debt(I think it took only 4-6 game years for it to reach 100k debt, where you have to restart the city), and has a 0 percent chance of being profitable, but damn does it help garbage in all of your other cities.
Also, WTF happened to the advertised fog for simcity 4? Anyone else remember a few of those advertisements they made, back in the day of Radeon 9800 pros and Geforce 5800's?(it still pisses me off how on the old radeon cards, when moving, the buildings disappeared)
Also, anyone notice how the game still runs like ass on current computers? Someone really needs to make a nice multithreading mod for this game, as it would really benefit from it...a graphical overhaul would be nice as well, but first thing first. And optimization for newer cards wouldn't hurt as well, though the CPU is the BIG bottleneck in this game. (my x2 4800+, 2GB of ram, and 2900XT are sad)
