Drums on Display in New Guitar Hero 4 Trailer

In this new trailer from Activision, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, The Police percussionist Stewart Copeland and Blink 182 drummerino Travis Barker chime in with their thoughts on the drum kit for Guitar Hero World Tour (PS2, PS3, 360, Wii).

"Playing the guitar, that's great," commented Smith. "But hitting stuff? Awesome."

Supporting drums, vocals, and song creation in addition to the expected guitar bits, Guitar Hero World Tour arrives this fall. No word yet if World Tour instruments will be compatible with Rock Band and Rock Revolution or vice versa.

Hopefully Harmonix will put in velocity sensitive drums in Rock Band 2 :)

I wish they'd add Midi support in this upcoming game so you could hook up proper midi drumkits....I've got my Roland Midi drumkit hooked up to Rockband and it makes the game about a million times more fun than playing on the plastic Rockband kit....

I have to admit their drums do look nicer than RB and the velocity sensitive part is a big step.

But.. I'm still not buying an entire new game with another huge set of plastic drums.

I'm not sold on the whole "music composing" aspect they are trying to introduce in Guitar Hero, but this drumset looks pretty nice. If the setlist can back it up I might actually get this.

This coming from a pretty big Harmonix fanboy.
