Infinite Undiscovery Trailer Unveiled

Publisher Square Enix has released a new trailer for its upcoming RPG Infinite Undiscovery (360), recently announced for a September 2 North American release.

The trailer showcases some story elements and gameplay footage from the title, which was developed in collaboration with Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean creator tri-Ace.

I'm tired of playing underdeveloped children following around catgirls and scantily clad preteens with megaswords. Give me mass effect level of character maturity, plot lines, and conversation.

All I ever hear in these games is:

Me: We must save the Ultiverse right after i get a haircut!
Catgirl:MewMew?
HotTeenGirl:OMG I LOVE YOU, but we can never be together!

Does anyone else get the impression that ALL Japanese developers seem to be a bit behind the curve at programming for next-gen systems? There seems to be a serious lack of shaders/mapping-whatevers/etc. I've been wondering if their focus on PS2 in the last generation, when other devs were working on PC and xbox titles, has put them behind.

And as everyone else has pointed out: LOL at the voice acting. Nothing like a dramatic, story-driven game that makes you cringe with embarrassment every 2 seconds.

The concept behind the game, the moon chained an all, is cool. But presentation and voice acting wise, I think it's pretty meh. If you want a good next gen JRPG fix, just go with Lost Odyssey, which was excellent.
