WoW: Wrath of the Lich King Due This Year; Ultra-Successful MMO Now Has 10.7M Subscribers
by Chris Faylor, May 14, 2008 3:26pm PDTThe second expansion pack for Blizzard's so-successful-it-hurts PC MMO World of Warcraft is due out in the second half of 2008, according to studio owner Vivendi.
In financial documents released today, Vivendi twice specified that the Wrath of the Lich King expansion pack would arrive in the second half of 2008. Developer Blizzard had yet to provide any sort of release estimate.
Vivendi further revealed that, as of March 31, 2008, World of Warcraft's subscriber base had grown to 10.7 million since it hit the 10 million mark in January.

I bet they'll have a graphics update/refresh as well in the exp pack, since folks will start bitching about how antiquated it looks.

Now I'm not all for shoveling them out the door, but in an MMO, content is so incredibly important that it can't be skimped on. And why the hell did TBC completely skip 20-60? 20-40 alone took me many moths to get through. There just weren't any fun options. Seriously, fuck the Barrens,
