Fiery New Alone in the Dark Screens

Reversing today's trend of rumors and unofficial assets, publisher Atari has issued several flame-filled screenshots from Eden Studios' Alone in the Dark.

The reimagining of the classic survival horror franchise is set to hit PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox 360 and Wii on June 24, with a PlayStation 3 version following later this year.

And why do they release doctored shots -- i.e. bullshots. One can clearly see that the hilites in the first shot have been draw over it as well as the fire in front has been edited with photoshop smudge (which makes it look somewhat horrible).

Please people, if you bother doctoring your stuff, either tell people about it or do it so that one won't notice. :P

If I knew this would create the same good memories (of the kind I now have @ the original Alone in the Dark game), then I'd pick it up without thinking twice.

I haven't seen a single video or screenshot from this game that had actually even showed a bit of 'scariness' in the atmosphere. But that doesn't mean that game will suck. Gameplay looks fun, minus the scares I was expecting when it was first announced back then.

Better go back and replay some old AitD games now :P
