It's the 6th annual food and cooking festival at BC Place. I'll be going for the weekend but we can choose one day on that weekend for a little Shack excursion. Lot's of food, drink, BBQ, cooking demos and free stuff!

The FFA PVP beta event is hilarious. It was planned poorly as most spawn points are just a big spam fest, lol.
However, the client for some reason seems so much better, smoother and way less buggy than the client on the day or two prior. The update was around 150mb give or take for those who already had it installed and it made a world of difference. Also considering there were SEVERAL more people in one area/on screen at a time.. I was impressed.
The FFA stuff was intense if you could creep away fast enough from a spawn point, no dice-roll shit.. all real time, feeling like a 3rd person action game. I truly enjoyed it but in the retail I will be playing on PvE as I do not want to worry about gankage while PvE'ing (AoC PvE is awesome and I want to keep it that way).
I did thoroughly enjoy Shadowbane around it's release time, because of the FFA rules. Griefers were counterattacked by the community and labeled as such, which makes FFA PVP a whole different world.
Anyways... see you guys in game around the 20th?

aGuitar Hero IV will follow closely in the footsteps of Rock Band, offering new instruments including a bass, microphone, and six-piece drumset that includes two cymbals. It is unknown whether or not the Guitar Hero IV instruments and Rock Band instruments will be cross-compatible.
Rock stars can step into the studio to create their own songs and share them with other players online courtesy of the newly minted Guitar Hero Tunes service, but these tracks will be devoid of vocals...Players will even be able to design their own musicians, album art, and instruments on-screen from scratch.
Sounds like they're really taking the best from Rock Band and expanding on it. I for one welcome this new musical videogames arms race.

It is cheaper for me to eat chinese food and drink the beer that's on sale than to buy the 'normal' assortment of products to create various meals.

1. I am going to pay off all of my credit card debt and never use my credit card again except for emergencies. I have about 2.5k in CC debt right now which isn't horrible but I hate it hanging over me like this.
2. I will never pirate another video game again. I used to do this a ton in the past and even recently I've done it with games I was only somewhat interested in. It makes no sense to me to engage in activity that is damaging to the hobby I hold most dear, and I am finally going to man up and admit that I have been part of the problem. I love PC gaming as it's been part of my life for as long as I can remember. In 2007 I bought more games than I had ever bought before, and it felt good supporting the developers that give me entertainment. If this means that I go to a LAN party and everything is playing a game I don't own and I have to sit out, that's a price I am going to pay. Although realistically I think I'll end up just buying all of the games I'm interested in playing.

In the movie there is a scene in the desert where he is flying and a tank shell nails him, and he comes out just fine, and i assume many bullets also hit him in the face during the fight sequence but during the final battle the gray robot dude (does it have a name) is fighting him, and he is taking all sorts of punishment but at the end it rips his helmet off and crushes it with a single hand, wtf, shouldn't the helmet not crush like that, is all you have to do to defeat iron man crush his head? anyone?

Anyone who knows me well knows I'm a huge fan of the Xbox Ninja Gaiden (not quite to Dognose levels of unabashed Duke love, but the passion is as fervent as I get for things that don't have a vagina). I've played though it on the original Xbox a good half-dozen times, worked my way through the Hurricane Pack, all that.
And then the 360 came out, and my saves couldn't be transferred. So I was stuck back on normal difficulty. I put it down for a (long) while.
A few months ago, I gritted my teeth and put the hours into beating Normal difficulty again, just so I'd have Hard available again for when I felt like having some real fun.
NG2 is on the horizon, and today I felt like taking a break from GTA4 for some ninja-y action. Just now, I popped in Ninja Gaiden Black, loaded everything up... and the save is corrupt. Meaning I don't have Hard unlocked anymore. Meaning I'd have to put in another 10-15 hours to unlock anything above Normal. GODDAMNIT! I'm fine with the saves being gone, per se, but I want to play on a diffuclty that I can't sleep my way through. I want a challenge.

After clearing Power Up 3 weeks ago I've spent maybe 5 minutes in On a Rail and really have no desire to play anymore. part of me wants to and part of me doesn't care to ever see Gordon Freeman again!
