Race Driver: GRID Demo On Xbox Live Marketplace
by Maarten Goldstein, May 08, 2008 2:48am PDTNow available in all Xbox Live regions is a demo for Race Driver: GRID, Codemasters' newest racing title. The demo includes three tracks, two cars, and online multiplayer support. Demos for other platforms are expected soon.
Race Driver: GRID will be released for PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS this June.

That being said I don't have much faith in codemasters making a tight racing game with excellent good physics or some of the other stuff GT may have thought of.

The cars are fast yet I didnt run off the track or spin out once, its really easy to drive but feels hyper-real and fun... and I was playing from driver view and not knowing the track. Plus there's drifting too!
Graphics are great, online play seems good, you get to vote between rounds on class choice in the demo.
Everything is really slick, like if you total your car you can use the thumbstick to rewind in time to any point in the race you want and instant-restart from there.

The cars feel a bit light, even when racing the mustangs they seemed to zip along and bob around like gokarts.
Whats nice about the enemy AI is that they dont all take the same line and battle out for positions . One of the things that always annoyed me about racing games is that whenever you looked behind you, you would see a long line of enemy cars all in a line doing synchronised driving.
