Prototype Delayed to 2009
by Aaron Linde, May 05, 2008 12:20pm PDTRadical Studios' open-world action title Prototype has been delayed to an unspecified 2009 release date, GameSpot reports.
The game was originally scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC this coming fall.
"Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create," said publisher Sierra Entertainment.

I can barely even remember the last time I was excited for a major launch. HL2 was pretty exciting even after all the delays it suffered, but that's because it was HL2. Games like this don't have the appeal to keep me interested through delay after delay. Though It did look pretty awesome. With that kickass Deceive trailer recently I jumped onto fileshack and download every bit of media to date and watched it all at once.

It seems that every single videogame on the market that is even SLIGHTLY anticipated gets delayed somehow.
It's absolutely unbelievable. Is it just impossible to stick to a release date? I mean, is it really that impossible to set a date that's practical and really makes sense with regard to your timeline?
My advice: Don't give a release month, don't even give any sort of release indication, unless you're absolutely SURE you can meet it.
