Champions Online Screenshots Make Zaps, Pows

As if in response to today's earlier City of Heroes news, developer Cryptic Studios has released a couple new screenshots of its upcoming superhero MMO Champions Online.

The game promises a near-infinite amount of character design possibilities, along with the ability to customize avatar back-stories and abilities.

Champions Online is slated for a spring 2009 release on PC and unspecified consoles.

Customization is probably one of the greatest things to happen to gaming. I think the amount customization that they're promise isn't possible in any other setting. Superheroes are the most diverse characters in fiction.

This looks like an MMO I could actually get behind!

only if there is more to do than CoH. I got bored pretty fast with the combat and the only real mark of progression was you level (nothing to buy when it launched)

Character customization ha finally made its way into shooters (CoD4, Battlefield, etc.) and I think it's brilliant. I really agree with your comment.
