3DMark Vantage Released

By Maarten Goldstein, Apr 28, 2008 6:11am PDT Now available from FileShack is 3DMark Vantage, the new Vista-only benchmark tool from Futuremark.

To run Vantage, you'll need Vista with Service Pack 1 installed, a DirectX10-compliant videocard, 1 GB of system RAM and a CPU that supports SSE2 instructions (though ideally you'll want a dual-core processor).

  • Not impressed at all. For one there is no 'DEMO' version with sound that one can sit back watch and enjoy all the wile stress testing your rig. It shows ads at the bottom of the screen even though I have the advanced edition. On top of that Adobe flash player causes it to crash with all the friggin ads. All in all it felt like I installed a program full of viruses and malware. It even makes you install PHYSX drivers on your rig even if you don't need them.

Pile of crap imo. 06 was the last of FutureMarks good benchmark programs. Don't bother trying this one, waste of time and money.
