New echochrome Trailer, Screenshots Released

Sony Computer Entertainment America has unveiled a trailer and new screenshots for both the PS3 and PSP versions of Sony Japan Studio's echochrome.

A demo of the game will arrive for both platforms later today via the PlayStation Store on the PS3, while the PlayStation Store for PC will offer the PSP demo only.

echochrome was released in Japan last month, and is being readied for a North American debut in May.

Wasn't there an indy game with this exact same premise? Although instead of the simple 2d illusion, it was a colorful 3d world that allowed you to shift perspective from 4 different angles perpendicular to the ground.

stupid name, but I like the concept. Could easily be something you play at addictinggames or whatever though. No need for a $$$ piece of dedicated machinery!

That's one of the greatest platform game design in a long while... The premise is actually quite simple but very well developped. (like all good game designs)
Although, if he was still alive M.C. Escher would sue the hell out of these guys.. :p That or he would have developped the game himself..

Looks like fun 2D/3D mix/match gameplay is in the air these days.. Echochrome, Super Paper Mario,.. and what's that other game that looks like super paper mario on steroids? Argh the name fails me..

This actually looks like a pretty cool puzzle game.

Thing is you can use the sixaxis to steer the pieces into place, which is kinda cool. Its a neat game for about 10 minutes, but its not for me.
