- If you get tagged as Probationary Add: You either have a low post history, or low TF2 hours played, or both. I have concerns about your committment. We had issues with people signing up to the last tournament and then not showing up. I need each of you to respond to the SM I sent. If you dont respond, I know you dont really want to play. Also, I am going to run a couple "probation" sessions on the ShackWest server, after captains are selected, so you can show off your skills. ALSO, probation can be removed if you get another Shacker with lots of post count and TF2 playtime to Vouch for you! Or your captain from the last tournament!
- I have terminated probation on a number of people already. please check the previous threads.
- If you signed up in the previous tournament, you will not be allowed to participate if you were not an active participant. I will send you a shackmessage if this is the case.
- You must be committed to playing. Dont sign up if you just think you might play, if there isnt something better going on. You are part of a team.
- Matches will be scheduled for every Sunday (Time in the evening, most likely 7pm Eastern/Pacific depending on division).
- Please indicate East or West division in your reply.
- If you are in the Central/Mountain area, or elsewhere. it is up to you to decided which division you want to play. The game time will be earlier or later than 7pm depending on which division you choose!
- Rules, Maps, Etc are all still TBD.
- Deadline to sign up is MAY 2

I'm on a total smashing pumpkins trip. I've been on it for a year.
Right now, I only own Mellon Collie, SIamese Dream, and Adore.
I'm really into songs like Where Boys Fear to Tread/Bodies, Cherub Rock, all the really grungy rock pumpkins stuff.

There seems to be a larger interest than expected in this game (along with a nice side order of haterade). Should we make an attempt at a guild when it launches? If so, you've got two choices for servers (well, three, but no one is going to pick a RP server).
1.) PvE. It's PvE everywhere except that borderlands when you can build player cities, capture keeps from other guilds. The single player territory is strictly PvE but you can hit the border lands and PvP when you want to.
2.) PvP. PvP in AoC is Free For All. It's your group or guild against everyone else. There is the above mentioned PvP in the borderlands and PvP in the rest of the game areas as well. The only place you can't PvP is inside cities.
Some things to consider about #2. There will undoubtedly be one or two servers where a majority of the big PvP guilds all decide to play on. We're talking about guilds that have a presence in every other MMO with PvP and they live and breathe PvP. It's all about bragging rights, etc. If a PvP server is the way to go, we need to decide if joining the main PvP server(s) is going to be the thing to do.
Personally, I enjoy some PvP here and there, but I don't really feel the need to join a major PvP server and spend time playing against the people who live and breathe that shit. The other thing to consider is crowds. While you want a certain number of people on a PvP server to make it enjoyable, trying to play on a overcrowded main PvP at launch sounds like an exercise in total frustration.
I think it's worth discussing because frankly, anyone of us could be one of the first to get in game when it launches 3 days earlier with the pre-orders, and we should probably consider these things because it could anyone of us founding a guild, etc.

HOLY. FUCKING. SHIT. that movie is fucking awesome in a can!
the style was awesome, the shaky cam wasn't that bad. I thought it was a nice fresh new idea on how to do a ""big ass monster movie" and a nice fresh idea to begin with. spoilered for those who have not seen this yet... The creature was fucking kewl as shit!! holy crap at the little "spawns" that it dropped!! What the fuck did the bite do to Marlene?? She explode?? or did they shoot her? it was hard to tell.. holy shit had the whole climbing up a building to cross to the other one, if that was in real life, i know i would be too chicken shit to do that.. the visuals were fucking bad ass, the night vision in the tunnel when they see the smaller fuckers.. holy shit i knew that was coming as soon as they said "durrr, turn on the night vision" but holy hell I was like "OH SHIT WTF RUN FAGGOTS!!!" holy crap at the main camera guy getting eated.. what was his name? Hun? Han? I really couldn't make it out, but ewwwwwww i think i saw a leg fly off in the chomp chomp.. OH!! and in the last few seconds, where it has the quick flash back of dork and the hot chick on the ferris wheel, did I see something fall from the sky and splash in the water far off in the distance?? so the creature was an alien i guess? sweeeeeet... I had to rewind it.. didn't see it at first till i watched the alternate endings.. :)
all in all, fucking bad ass movie!! I definately will be buying this one for my collection!!

i used to think about what i would do if i got rich. i went mentally go through and purchase all the shit i wanted. bad ass speakers and audio equipment, headphones, a sweet computer, giant tv, maybe some new clothes, and then give a bunch to my friends and family. probably a pretty common (and boring) fantasy.
i also used to think about a flying skateboard, kind of like the hoverboard in back to the future 2 but full on flying. there have been many variations on this fantasy, but i usually start out inventing it and keeping it all to myself for the first few months so i can be the coolest person ever. it was fun just thnking about flying everywhere. then once i let the masses have copies, i would be praised all over the world. i would be king awesome.
i don't usually think about the first fantasy anymore, but sometimes the flying skateboard one creeps in when i try to sleep, even though i've been thinking about it since i was 11. anyways this is a stupid thread, but what do you think about when falling asleep?

Definitely a modern song by a modern band.
There were parts that were sort of atmospheric (think clean guitars playing chords, some pads providing a lush landscape), but then it broke down into Linkin Park sort of rock phases. No rapping or anything like that - more straight-forward rock.
Part of the lyrics were "gone too far" and it seemed to be the verse of the song, but I don't know. I didn't hear the whole song.

To me, that number is so disproportionate as to suggest that something is drastically wrong. I like Obama, and I'll happily vote for him in the general election, but if he really wanted to do something revolutionary that would change America for the better, he'd end the war on drugs. Of course, if he promised to do that, he'd never get elected. It makes me really sad to know that this immense squandering of our human and financial resources likely won't end in my lifetime.

At what resolutions do you play games?
The reason why I ask is that I have a 8800 GT and I doubt it can handle games like UT3, Crysis, COD4,... at native resolution of 1920x1200.
Or can I use a lower 16:9 resolution without pixel "smudging"?

As i think back to my last few PCs, i built em all myself - but of course, there is hassle making sure everything works together, making sure you do it right, and getting good bang for the buck. Plus im so far back on PC specs and stats, i duno what would be good for me, and don't care much to re-learn it all over again...
but now i got a good job and am contomplating getting a pre-made rig - ie Alienware or something like that. Anyone have any recommendations? I dontt need all sorts of bells and whistels, just something that is solid, great game preformance, and a decent warranty
Basiclally, want a solid rig that will smoke for todays games, liquid cooling (for less noise) a fast system drive and a solid big data drive, 2 gb of ram, decent auido and don't care about media drives..probably a dual GFX card.
