Age of Conan PC Goes Gold

The oft-delayed PC edition of Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures has gone gold and entered the manufacturing process, developer Funcom and publisher Eidos had announced.

Complete with nipples and over-the-top violence, the mature MMO is slated to launch on May 20 in North America, with a European release following on May 23. An Xbox 360 edition will arrive at a later, unspecified date.

"Age of Conan has been in development for a long time, as with all MMOs, but we have spent that time well and ended up with a game we are incredibly proud of," said Funcom CEO Trond Arne Aas. "We believe we have truly succeeded in realizing the vision of the game."

If you pre-ordered via Gamestop, there seems to be shenanigans going on with the pre-order. They are telling people they won't be receiving them anytime soon, etc, while places like best buy already has them on the shelves (the pre-order kit). Also, the BB version has the war Rhino.

played the pvp weekend beta, pvp is pretty decent. Cant wait for this game, the battle mechanics are very awesome and precise.

Anyone pre-ordering for the mount, don't do it through GoGamer. They don't offer the mammoth with it like most the other retailers, just the book and 3 day early play (that other's have as well).

On the other hand, they are $5 cheaper so if you don't care about the mount but just want the rest, then that would be a good place to order from.

This game will be over as soon as it starts.

and its a shame the beta isn't that bad. i played madly for almost 2 weeks but im back on my regular games due to all the problems and just plain frustration of the gameplay.

it needs work. guys finish this and you will have success.

I got to sit down with Atari to see a beta demonstration of the game. Spent the entire time uninstalling and reinstalling it. I didn't see any gameplay after all that, just a little wandering around in the environment.

Is there going to be an open beta? I went throught he trouble of downloading the 36+ GB (yes that is 36 some GIGABYTES) client and have only got to play durring the tech test a couple weeks ago.Due to the nature of the test I only got a short ways into the game and would need more time to decide if it is worth a purchase right away, a few months down the line (when it has been heavily discounted), or pass completely.
