Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 to Arrive on Virtual Console, Boogerman and Clayfighter Too

12
Following the recent revelation that publisher Interplay would be reviving its classic properties, the long-dormant company has announced that four of its older titles will be released on the Wii's Virtual Console service.

The eccentric platformers Earthworm Jim, Earthworm Jim 2, Boogerman, and the clay-based fighting game Clayfighter are all expected to arrive as Wii Shop Channel downloads later this year.

In its announcement, Interplay confirmed that the Virtual Console releases will be the Sega Genesis versions. No price point was named, though most Sega Genesis games sell at 800 Wii Points ($8).

Were there any differences between the SNES and Genesis versions of Earthworm Jim?

The music was better and the graphics were less grainy on the SNES version. Can't remember much else, though.

Intestistinal Distress!! was not in the snes version. For that reason, the Genesis version was always considered the superior version.

I agree! I have a copy on my shelf at home. The voice track when you beat the game on difficult is the funniest thing ever.

According to Wikipedia: "This level is not present in the SNES version of the game. The setting here is made up of large intestines, with Doc Duodenum waiting at the end of the level. A different version of this level is present in the GBA port. "
