Ignition and SNK Partner to Publish Metal Slug 7, Other SNK Titles in North America

5
Ignition Entertainment today announced an agreement with Japanese developer SNK/Playmore to publish several SNK titles in North America, beginning with Metal Slug 7 (NDS).

The companies had previously worked together to localize several SNK/Playmore titles in Europe. The expanded partnership includes several unannounced titles, the first of which will be SNK's upcoming Metal Slug 7, developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS.

No release dates for Metal Slug 7 have yet been announced by either company.

I can't wait for a DS-specific Metal Slug. Those are games I never get tired of. I think it's kinda cool that Metal Slug Anthology will wind up being the definitive collection of the arcade titles.

I dunno, the GBA-specific Metal Slug Advance wasn't all that...

I never played that one but this one could potentially be different - it's not Metal Slug 7 for the arcade and ported to the DS, Metal Slug 7 is being made specifically for the DS. It's the main platform.

So yeah we'll see but I think given that this is the target platform instead of some port, it could have potential.

Metal Slug Advance was a completely original game as well. It wasn't bad, just not up to par with *most* of the arcade titles (Metal Slug 4 was pure ass).
