Mario Kart Wii Screenshots Show Off Courses

by Aaron Linde, Apr 11, 2008 1:19pm PDT

Nintendo has released fifteen new screenshots of its upcoming racer Mario Kart Wii, offering a glimpse at some of the new tracks available in the game.

The game ships with 16 new courses, 16 old ones and the ability to race online alongside 11 other players. Also included is the Wii Wheel controller shell, which holds the Wii Remote.

Mario Kart Wii was released in Europe today, and races to North American retail shelves on April 27.

  • I'm actually looking forward to this more than I ever was for Smash Brothers...but for me, Mario Kart is always a bigger multiplayer game than Smash Brothers (and I love smash bros)...part of that is that perhaps that getting my brother to play Smash Bros. is like pulling teeth...but he's generally always up for a round of Mario Kart (well not always, but its more likely)...and I can get my mom to occasionally play Mario Kart too. Smash Brothers is fun but I've never managed to "get" it enough to really understand the underlying depth...I can see said depth but I just can't get to the point where the game feels less random when playing against the CPU and feels more like I'm actually beating it instead of just beating on the other guy(s) until I win.
