Final Fantasy 4 DS Remake Hits NA This July

8
RPGFan has reported that Square Enix's fully-fledged DS remake of its classic RPG Final Fantasy IV will hit shelves this coming July.

Originally released in Japan late last year, Final Fantasy IV DS has not yet been officially announced for a North American release by developer Square Enix, but was recently featured in the May issue of gaming magazine Nintendo Power accompanied by English screenshots.

Shacknews has contacted Square Enix for confirmation of the release date, but the company has not responded as of this writing.

Very exciting news! I have never played FF4 in the past so this will be my first experience with the game. I realy enjoyed the DS version of FF3 and from what I've heard it's a lot better than that.

It absolutely is. But definitely be sure to hunt down a copy of Final Fantasy IV Advance and experience the game in its original (but very, very improved over its ORIGINAL original [SNES]) form. From what I've played of the DS remake, it does lose a smidge of charm in the transition to 3D.

        Fuck that, I'm not a 2d purist.

Neither am I. But it's still a great alternative, and actually plays differently (faster, different story).

I suggest it if only because you'll likely dig on FF4 DS even more having played the original. Just sayin'.

Agreed. FF3 was okay but it's not comparable at all to 4. 4 is one of the best games of all time. I can't wait to play this.

This will be the third time I buy this game and I don't regret it at all. This is my favorite game of all time.
