Dawn of War 2 Announced, Eventual Beta Access for Soulstorm Buyers
by Chris Faylor, Apr 03, 2008 7:20am PDTConfirming earlier reports, publisher THQ today announced the sci-fi RTS sequel Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II for PC.
Developed by Dawn of War and Company of Heroes veteran Relic Entertainment, Dawn of War II will feature a non-linear single-player game, a co-op multiplayer campaign, and destructible environments.
"We started with everything fans loved about the original Dawn of War and then added more than they ever could have hoped for," said Relic general manager Tarrnie Williams.
While no release date was provided, THQ did note that those who purchase the recently-released stand-alone DoW expansion pack Soulstorm will be able to participate in an eventual invite-only multiplayer beta for the sequel.

And with the closure of Iron Lore, I know the developers won't get any bonus for sales.

I hardly ever 'register' my games, so I just went to do that for Soulstorm. The page it takes you to doesn't ask for any information, and I couldn't find any 'register' link on it.
Would they just go by GameSpyID's that have been created for Soulstorm? That would mean if you don't play online you don't count as having 'bought it.' (Of course, you probably wouldn't be the target audience for the beta anyway.)
