Rainbow Six Vegas 2 Sells Nearly 2 Million Copies, Ubisoft Raises Fiscal Sales Target
by Chris Faylor, Apr 01, 2008 9:46am PDTPublisher Ubisoft has revealed that, despite some technical complaints, it sold nearly 2 million copies of the Ubisoft Montreal-developed Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (PS3, X360) to retailers since its mid-March release.
According to the company, this marks a "better than expected" performance.
Prompted by the strong sales, Ubisoft has raised its sales target for the 2007-08 fiscal year to 920 million euros (roughly $1.43 billion). Total sales for the fiscal year were previously expected to be around 875 million euros (roughly $1.36 billion).
"2008 is off to be a record year for the videogame market and our games have performed remarkably well in this context," said Ubisoft president and CEO Yves Guillemot.

Id like to see Ubisoft go all out with the Rainbow Series, and really put more thought into MP.

While I haven't played R6:V2 yet (I want to), it seems like it's a very similar game to the first. I hope that this doesn't reinfornce to Ubi that they can sell virtually the same (fine, very similar) game twice. (I'm not trying to troll, btw). I'd rather see a difference like Splinter Cell 1 to Chaos Theory rather than Splinter Cell 1 to Pandora Tomorrow.
