have a decade of news archives to work with some really interesting stuff shows up
sometimes. Some of my favorites are Lawsuit,

the individual tags linked at the top of each of those as well. Kinda handy if you're just
interested in things like Trailers or
Demos or href="http://www.shacknews.com/tag.x/Screenshots">Screenshots

It has been nearly 10 years since Grim Fandango's release and it has received a ton of praise thus far, but only after it was a major flop on store shelves. Some say Grim Fandango was the final nail in the Adventure genre's coffin -- unfortunately, they're probably right (I mean, why spend money on a genre that won't sell well anymore?). Anyway, now you can see for yourself if it lives up to its name.
"But Dr.Waffles, watching someone else play a game is boring!"
Au contraire, my friends. Grim Fandango has such witty dialog, infectious voice acting, amazing music, gorgeous art, and excellent overall design that I think anybody would be able to enjoy this fine masterpiece. Even in a passive form. The person who is recording the video progresses at a decent pace, while catching all of the funny bits of dialog. Those of you who aren't familiar with the game can pick up on the story rather quickly. Just think of it as an actual movie (it's actually slightly edited to remove some of the back-and-forth walking between locations).
If you have some free time today, tomorrow, over the weekend -- WHENEVER -- grab a snack, sip some tea, and take a look at this game. At the very least, watch the first video (it's only about 25 minutes long :]).
I still find it interesting even after playing through the game many times. Yes, I find myself chuckling at the humor every time I play it. Just like a good movie, it never grows old.
Perhaps my fanboism for this game has distorted my sense of objectivity, but Grim Fandango is a truly fun game that I recommend all of you experience in some form or another. Games such as these come along few and far between.
So, here's the link! Use the navigation block on the right to select the subsequent videos.

OK, I'm up to level 12 I think, and it seems that, because of the unlocking dynamic, how much ass you kick is directly proportional to how much your ass gets kicked. As a beginner there's no way I can stand up to the superior weaponry of these 5-star 'generals' or whatever.
I still get a bunch of kills each game, and the game is still fun... but it's a far cry from my Rainbow Six days when you were only allowed one life. COD4 is just a bunch of hopping around and spraying around corners much like Halo.
It's fun for like the first 150 kills, but is there something that keeps you coming back? Is there a Zen you reach at some point? Is there some kind of super-unlock that changes the game dramatically?

On GearsOfWar on the X360, I have lost the ability to take cover (!), yeah thats right, a game where taking cover is the number one mechanics, I cannot take cover :(. I Tried clearing the cache, restarting the console, yet, I cannot take cover. What gives ? anyone heard of such a thing ?
Last night I did mange to get through some factory and the caves, then placed the resonator all the time, without taking cover, but it sure wasn't any fun anymore.
The X button doesn't do anything when walking up to a cover, but the actual button on the controller works, on other occasions such as pressing stuff or climbing ladders (it also works in other games) so the problem is not in the controller.
please... I'm dying here.

I'm looking for a simple, not too expensive, piece of hardware that allows me to mix mp3's with Traktor DJ or other software. It should contain the stuff normal mixers have (pitch control, etc) and allow me to check stuff through my headphones before mixing it. Preferably something that doesn't require 10 soundcards and all kinds of usb hacks to work on my computer.
Anybody know a good piece of hardware allows me to mix manually instead of clicking ze mouse ( = suck)?

I'm having issues getting it set up in Vista. It worked perfectly fine in XP, but for some reason I can't get Vista set up so I can print even a test page.

Wow how completely unacceptable, a dumb fucking boss battle that runs at 5fps the entire time. Un playable. Did anyone test this level or what the fuck? Good thing the MP is so good because I'd ask for my money back how absolutely ridiculous.

I'll still be killing stuff in normal difficulty for a day at least, I want XP to level 41 before starting epic.
on top of all this, my L39 char successfully finished normal difficulty without dying even once. I didn't sit out any boss fights or anything. going to work on continuing that streak...
