Far Cry 2 Confirmed for Fall 2008 Release
by Aaron Linde, Mar 26, 2008 12:06pm PDTFar Cry 2 (PC, PS3, X360) is now scheduled for release in the fall of this year, Ubisoft revealed in a production video released today. The title had previously been slated for a vague fiscal year 2008-2009 release.
Made without the involvement of series creator Crytek, which sold the Far Cry rights to Ubisoft in 2006. Crytek moved on to Crysis (PC) and other projects while Ubisoft Montreal was tasked with Far Cry 2.
The new title ditches the mutants, feral abilities and protagonist of 2004's Far Cry and its expansions, choosing instead to present a brand new experience in an open-ended and non-linear world.
"The team has been working extremely hard to ensure that there are no compromises made for quality or features on each platform," said Ubisoft Montreal producer LP Pharand.

The first game got boring halfway through, and this one is definitely a sequel. Picks right up where the first one left off in being boring.

This whole thing makes no sense to me.
We don't own that hardware, and all I've seen so far are tech demos (this one also pretty much is one)
We want games with great game design, entertaining features and of course good visuals/sounds.
btw they are calling the engine "Far Cry 2 engine".
It's not Cryengine 2.
There has never been a "Far Cry engine 1" in history. So the name is a CHEAT, which wants to adapt on the latest Cryengine2.0.

Is this still CryEngine 1?
Here I was hyped about this game, now its not even close to what I thought it was going to be.
Now it'll be console'd to death although they say "The team has been working extremely hard to ensure that there are no compromises made for quality or features on each platform,"
I seriously doubt that...

Looking forward to it anyhow. The PC version look as stunning as Crysis. I hope it runs better though.
