Evening Reading

by Jeff "geedeck" Gondek, Mar 22, 2008 6:34pm PDT

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. So I should ask, do you get enough out of your Shacking? One of the great things about the Shack is our community in the comments, and even if you don't choose to participate actively then it's worth seeing the "greatest hits", so to speak. But how does one do that?

Well, we've got a dedicated column to "Interesting Comments" on the front page, but alternatively this search will actually give you the entire backlog going back seven years comprehensively. These posts posts range from informational (also 1, 2 or 3), to funny (also 1, 2 or 3), about other Shackers (also 1, 2 and 3) and to the neat things they've done (also 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6) or even the sheer genius of our leader. These are all tagged by our dedicated moderators, so if you see something good then the best way to draw attention to it is simply by saying it's neat, funny, helpful or so on.

Whew. How about some random, yet vaguely newsworthy links?

Don't forget to check out the Highlights of the Week, the Weekly Release List or our Command & Conquer 3 contest. Stay safe tonight and cause just enough ruckus not to get into trouble.

  • hey, so, I have a slightly older pc that can still play more or less recent games, and have heard a lot about this game you all might know... battlefield 1942. I like online games, and I'm a pc gamer, so I'd like to try something besides the usual run and gun DM, TDM, etc. I've heard that 1942 was actually a good game, unlike it's successors, battlefield 2 or 2142. I tried the BF2 demo, and frankly, i couldnt understand it, probably since im so used to simple quake3 dm games. I hear that for a ww2 game, bf1942 was really innovative, it is really? Now it's like 10$ i think, i might pick it up.
