Capcom Reveals Street Fighter Movie Cast

Capcom today revealed several cast members for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of its popular Street Fighter franchise, confirming previous reports as well as unveiling some new faces.

Michael Clark Duncan (pictured left) will be joining the cast as the rough-and-tumble boxer Balrog. Duncan's resume includes Sin City, Daredevil, The Green Mile and numerous other credits.

Additionally, Chris Klein (Election, American Pie) has been tapped to play Charlie Nash, and the Black Eyed Peas' Taboo will take up the role of Vega. Neal McDonough (The Hitcher, Flags of Our Fathers) will star as M. Bison. They join Smallville's Kristin Kreuk, who will play Chun Li.

While Capcom did not confirm whether Doom director Andrzej Bartkowiak would be helming the project, the company did state that Street Fighter is scheduled for a worldwide 2009 release.

What about Ryu god damit! Who is gonna play him, the defining character of the series.
They totally ruined that part in the first movie.
Stop with the Chun Li obsession already. And I totally agree that there are ample Chinese/HK actresses much more suitable for the role. Many who would be happy to have a part in a Holywood movie. If anything just to get noticed/exposure.

I'm not so sure about Kristen Kreuk as Chun Li. You think maybe we could have gotten an actual chinese actress, or is the girl from House of Flying Daggers all tapped out already.

im trying to think how this could be good and im having trouble thinking of anything plausible :(

maybe if they made it super gritty and realistic and shit (without getting gratuitously bloody/violent) like fight club/raging bull then that could be cool, but then itd all go gay when they start throwing fireballs and shit. plus it'd have to be R for that to work, and i almost garauntee that they wouldnt do that because they want the <17 demographics so itd be at most PG-13.

yea this is gonna suck. :(

Neal McDonough as M. Bison is the nail in the coffin of shittiness for this movie. I in all honesty believe he is one of, if not the worst actor in show business today. He is on a hot streak though, fresh off of that blockbuster "I Know Who Killed Me".

Why is this movie being made? Dead serious question. I know there's the whole money thing, which doesn't make much sense since the peak of SF popularity ended in the early 90's. It's just... boggling.

Now, I really like Michael Clark Duncan, but I don't know if he has the physique to play Balrog. He's way to big around the middle. He's probably over 100 pounds too heavy for the role. Maybe they'd get a body double.
