Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack Hits April 15

The second downloadable map pack for Bungie's Halo 3 will arrive on April 15, publisher Microsoft and the now-independent developer have announced. At that time, the previously released Heroic Map Pack will, according to Microsoft, become a free download.

Selling for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), the Legendary Map Pack includes three new multiplayer maps. One will be a retooling of the original Halo map Sidewinder titled Avalanche, with the developer issuing several screenshots of the revamped map.

Bungie had previously released several screenshots of another map in the pack, Ghost Town. The third map, code-named Moonlight Sonata, remains shrouded in mystery.

"Remember, we just make the maps, we don't get to price them," Bungie community manager Luke Smith wrote on the company's website.

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

There are not enough levels in snow I think, for any game.

It's incredibly difficult to do well. More often than not it just looks like everything is painted silver.

Probably the best part about that game, the snow levels and how your character moved in it looked pretty damn good. :)

I playing Lost Planet right now actually ...just recently got a 360 and a friend lent me the game.

It's alright, looks nice, but I really stink with the gamepad. I had to restart the game on easy because I kept dying trying to beat the first mission's boss :P

Did you beat it? I finally figured out you had to grab the two guns at the same time...then my 360 RROD'd and I never started the game again. Will go back to it eventually, I hope. I loved the snow aspect to the game, too.

I agree. Snowbound is my favorite map, be fun to have another one in snow.
