Evening Faylure

Did everyone manage to catch Replay Couch today? Those Rock Band and Super Smash Bros. Brawl videos are insane, not to mention a bit scary.

Meanwhile, it was an awfully busy day in video game land:

Chris Faylor was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.

    ER EF repost!

ATTN video game music knowing menz:

A friend of mine composed this track and he's worried that it's from a video game. I certainly don't think so, at least nothing I've played, but I said I would check with you guys, because you would know.

Sounds like something that would be in a lucas arts game but I've never played anything with such.

I don't think it's from anything, but it's kinda like "one of those faces": I could swear I recognize it from somewhere, but pretty sure I haven't.

Reminded me of something John Williams like maybe - a slight Indiana Jones feeling @ what I'd call the main theme. But its definitely not that. Tell your friend that he shouldn't worry too much I'd say - and that it is some cool ideas also btw.
Its the musicians never ending fortune / problem to think like that.

We are all inspired by something, and some of it is bound to reflect in our own music. If we were to dig through what other great composers has been inspired from, then there'd be a good chance that tiny bits could be traced back to that origin (be it rhythm / intervals etc).
