Sony Releases New Wipeout HD Screens

An assortment of fresh screenshots from Sony Liverpool's upcoming PlayStation 3 racer Wipeout HD were doled out today.

Wipeout HD is set to feature online multiplayer racing for up to eight players, 1080p presentation, and the same hovercraft mechanics that fans of the series are accustomed to.

No release date has been announced yet for the game, but it is still expected to hit the PlayStation Store sometime later this year.

God damn I love WipeOut games. High-speed, adrenaline charged visceral future sport with high tech weaponry and a pumping soundtrack. I remember trying to get into the first one way back when I bought my PS1....so fucking hard, but well worth it once you get used to the airbrakes. Its annoying that I decided not to buy consoles anymore.....cos this this really has me wanting a shitty PS3.

Never played a Wipeout game, but this has me excited. High speed arcade racing with guns is just what I want. None of that realistic junk. I love Mario Kart, but sometimes it's too kiddy and slow. I hope this game is what I'm expecting.
