Dark Sector Goes Gold, Arrives March 25

Digital Extremes' glaive-wielding action title Dark Sector (PS3, X360) has entered the manufacturing process and will ship to North American retailers on March 25, D3Publisher announced today.

Powered by Digital Extremes' Evolution Engine, the title has players assuming the role of Hayden, a former special ops agent infected by a virus that grants him superpowers. Just like Mega Man, Hayden must defeat bosses in order to acquire their specific powers, such as the ability to create a bullet-deflecting bubble shield.

Dark Sector also sports a multiplayer mode, featuring two different gameplay types, with Digital Extremes hoping to eventually flesh out the title's multiplayer component via downloadable content.

something tells me this is going to feel like it was pushed out the door. anyone see any previews to confirm or deny that suspicion? i know it's been in development for a while, but something doesn't feel right.

maybe it'll actually be really good and just hasn't been hyped? guess we'll see.

I saw it at GDC and it looked rather cool. I'd never really seen or read anything on it before, but based off what I saw there, I'm interested in playing the final product.
