Super Turrican Hits Wii VC

Factor 5's Super Turrican marks this week's sole release Wii Virtual Console release.

Selling for 800 Wii Points ($8), the alien-destroying Super Nintendo title features 2D sidescrolling goodness interspersed with lightning whip and grappling hook hijinks.

The game is currently available for download from the online Wii Shop Channel.

In recent times, Factor 5 has spoken of reviving the franchise on current-gen consoles. "I was looking at Metroid Prime's reinventing of a franchise that had been out there for quite awhile, and we're facing the same thing with Turrican," studio president Julian Eggebrecht noted last year.

Never played the SNES version but loved the Amiga games at the time. Anyone know how it compares?
